                          Seminar and Class Schedule 2013

Sundays- noon - 3 – Fly Tying with Conn/ RI Coastal Fly Fishers – Just show up with a vise and tie along some of the best local tiers. Check for dates, they tie about 3 Sundays a month.

Feb.6, 13, 20– Rod Building Classes – “Q” Kresser – Learn the basics of building a rod. Three evenings, reservation and fee required, call shop for details.

Feb 13 to 20- Bonefish Trip to Acklins Island – Sorry trip is filled, check out our April trip. Feb. 23 –Making and Using Bucktail Jigs – “Q” Kresser – How to mold, tie and use bucktails for stripers, blues, fluke and more. It doesn’t get simpler to make one of the most effective lures ever invented.

Mar. 2 -  Better Diamond Jigging – Capt. Tom Migdalski – Diamond jigs have been around for a century, it’s about time you brought your techniques up to date. Capt. Tom will show you what he’s learned by hands on experience. It will up not only your catch, but your enjoyment.

Mar.16-  Vertical Jigging Strategies – Capt. Jack Sprengel -Capt. Jack will share his experience and expertise. Similar to last years’ seminar but with an emphasis on stripers, sea bass and fluke.

Mar.23 – Striper Surf Day – 10am – 4pm. Our annual celebration of chasing stripers through the waves.  Speakers plus factory reps, food, demonstrations and great time with old friends.

Mar.30– Stripers in the Connecticut River – “Q” Kresser & Pat Abate – We have long believed that this river has a world class spring fishery. Let’s share some of the knowledge..

Apr. 3-10 - Bonefish Trip to Acklins Island – Our second trip of the season. We’ve been going to Acklins for 14 years and haven’t found a better all around bonefish haven. It has miles of hard flats on a remote island and some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet fishing. Call us for more details.

Apr.14 – Surfcasting 102 – Pat Abate – Beginning and advanced techniques for getting started in the right direction with a simple approach to fishing and catching with your feet on the ground. We’ve enhanced our previous surfcasting seminars to take your game up a notch.

April 28– Saltwater Fly Fishing School – Lou Tabory, “Q” Kresser

A full day of learning the techniques and tricks of saltwater fly fishing both in classroom and on the beach with hands on instruction from experts. Fee is $150 and includes lunch.
